Nature has provided us with a variety of wonderful healing herbs which we have custom blended to benefit your horse’s health.
These amazing formulas contain the very finest certified organic herbs. They are handcrafted and mixed in small batches to ensure freshness and quality. We freshly grind many of our herbs upon order. They are also non-GMO, without fillers and are free of sugar and non-structural carbohydrates (NSC). Therefore these formulas are suitable to feed to horses with IR/Metabolic issues.
While other companies may offer similar products, many of their herbs are not organic. Our formulas also have a much higher concentration of herbs per dose ensuring greater effectiveness. They also contain unique herbs not found in other products.
Healing Herbs and their beneficial properties:
Organic Aloe Vera Leaf: Helps support a healthy digestive and immune system, assists antioxidant support, reduces toxins in the body. Studies have shown that aloe vera juice is just as effective for digestive issues as drugs without the chance of toxic side effects.
Organic Fenugreek: A favorite flavor of horses! Dissolves mucus, anti inflammatory, antiseptic, expectorant. Helps strengthen the respiratory system, mucous membranes and sinus congestion. Soothing to the gastrointestinal system. Aids in reducing blood sugar and supports healthy metabolic function in insulin resistant horses.
Organic Licorice: An herb that has been used by the Egyptians,Romans, Greeks and Chinese for thousands of years. An adrenal gland stimulant and a natural source of a hormone similar to cortisone. It protects the immune system and useful for the protection from and healing of ulcers.
Organic Marshmallow Root: An herb that has been used for centuries throughout the world to relive irritation and inflammation of the respiratory, digestive and urinary systems.It contains mucilage, a soluable fiber that becomes gel like when wet and forms a proctective film over aggravated mucous memebranes.
Organic Papaya Leaf: A fruit with a rich source of enzymes such as papain that greatly aids in the digestive process.
Organic Pumpkin Seeds: Nutritional powerhouses wrapped in a small package. Pumpkins seeds contain a wide variety of nutrients from magnesium and manganese to copper, protein and zinc. They also contain the amino acid tryptophan for anxiety relief and essential fatty acids (EFA’s). Pumpkin seeds also contain powerful antioxidant properties that help ease inflammation.
Organic Slippery Elm Bark: Comes from the inner bark of the tree. It contains mucilage which is a polysaccharide that becomes a gel when mixed with water. Soothes and coats the stomach and intestines providing relief and protecting the GI tract from ulcers due to excess acid. Also absorbs toxins which can cause intestinal imbalances. It is rich in nutrients including beneficial antioxidants and helps relieve inflammation.

When I purchased my 20-year-old Paint mare, Shiney, she came with intermittent diarrhea/loose stools, especially when there was a hay change in the barn. I had her ultrasounded, with a diagnosis of two small ulcers in her gut. However, the traditional medicine protocol of banamine/gastroguard only helped for a while, and the diarrhea would return.
I started researching how to best treat Shiney’s gut and digestive system. I made alterations in her diet, including probiotics and a host of ground and chopped herbs and foods. This helped, but not entirely. I cruised around the internet to see what other products might be out there and came across Gastrox.
