Great for people and animals!
Ok…it ‘s almost September ..remember that New Years’ resolution you made to eat better and get healthy? Well, now’s your chance!
Let’s talk “flax facts”
Flaxseed is nutritionally unique and offers health benefits not found in other commonly eaten nuts or seeds. They are a great source of fiber. Most people do not get enough fiber in their diet and just 1 Tablespoon of flaxseed contains approximately 8 grams of fiber!
The first unique feature is that flax is high in Omega 3 fatty acids. These are the “good fats” shown to have cardiovascular “healthy heart” benefits. Numerous studies have found that Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’S) provide anti inflammatory action as well as help decrease the risk of arrhythmia (abnormal heartbeat). Intake of flaxseed has also been shown to decrease cholesterol and blood pressure levels.
The second unique feature is flaxseed contains lignans that provide antioxidant protection. Research indicates lignans help reduce the risk of breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. A study done in 2007 on menopausal women who added 2 Tablespoons of ground flax mixed into in juice, cereal or yogurt twice daily helped cut hot flashes in half and the intensity of them also dropped 57%. Lignans have also been found to prevent excessive inflammation and protect blood vessels from inflammatory damage.
The third unique feature is flaxseed has mucilage that can provide special support to the intestinal tract and helps improve absorption of certain nutrients in the small intestines. This greatly improves digestive health. Regular consumption of flax helps ward off colon cancer by promoting regular bowel movement and colon health by aiding in the elimination of toxins from the body.
We offer 5 pounds of whole organic flax seed for people or freshly ground organic flax seed. Flaxseed is best if it’s ground right before each use to retain its maximum nutritional value. We offer it whole so you can grind it fresh yourself, or if you prefer we cold stone grind it (to minimize nutrient destroying heat) the day we ship your order to you. You can store our freshly ground flax seed in the refrigerator or freezer to retain optimum freshness and nutritional value.
As if that’s not enough…wait there’s more! Your animals……
Many of the same benefits that flaxseed provides for people also apply to your animals. For horses, flax is something that can help just about every horse in some way or another. The Omega 3 fatty acids enhances overall health in horses because it helps reduce inflammation and can relieve symptoms associated with sweet itch and other skin conditions and will also promote a nice shiny coat. Because of the mucilage, it works well for sand removal for horses in lieu of psyllium. Flaxseed’s anti inflammatory properties also help with arthritis or joint stiffness. It also boosts the immune system and helps regulate thyroid function, making it an ideal supplement for metabolic horses as well as aging horses.
The same holds true for dogs and cats. Flax can also alleviate symptoms associated with allergies. It’s also a great digestive aid with lots of fiber. Adding whole organic flaxseed to poultry feed will not only produce more eggs, but great tasting larger omega rich eggs. It also helps provide strong feathers and vibrant color. Flaxseed is great for your other barnyard critters as well.

Here’s some comments from a happy customer:
Thank you! We ordered this back in March and have been giving to our Pug twice a day. He has terrible allergies and I have to say, this has helped his skin/coat tremendously. His coat was very dull looking and full of dry flaky patches (easy to see on black fur) but things are looking much better now. He is allergic to salmon, so Flax is the only way we can get him the Omegas that he needs. This product is great quality and we can see the positive effects in our Doug the Pug! Thanks again.
“Thanks for the feedback Doug the Pug”. We are happy to help!
