Product Description

Organic ChasteBerry (Vitex Agnus Castus) Powder

For Moody Mares, aggressive horses, and bolshy geldings with an attitude.

Moody mares often suffer from PMS-like symptoms, causing stressed and unpredictable behavior, and even aggressive tendencies. This is very unpleasant and can be dangerous for the horse as well as to the rider.

Here is what a few of our customers had to say about the Organic ChasteBerry Powder:

“I have been very happy with the results of the Chasteberry Powder. It works as well as, or better than Regumate for my very “marish” 14.2 mare.” Nancy K.

I love that I can get this supplement so inexpensively here. This helps keep my mare’s cycles in check most of the year. She doesn’t mind it in her grain.  Katherine – Sacramento, California

Organic ChasteBerry Powder

Beneficial for the hormonal system. Chasteberry has been in use for centuries for balancing and regulating the hormonal system. It gently, but effectively, supports the normal functioning of the pituitary gland correcting hormonal disturbances. Supporting the progesterone level is extremely helpful in counteracting the irritability and unpredictability that mares ‘in season’ may display. ChasteBerry Powder makes them more comfortable, co-operative and safer to handle. ChasteBerry Powder can also be used with overly aggressive stallions and geldings.

ChasteBerry Powder causes the pituitary gland to produce luteinizing hormone. This increases progesterone production and helps regulate a mare’s moody cycle. ChasteBerry Powder also keeps prolactin secretion in check. The ability to decrease mildly elevated prolactin levels may benefit some infertile mares with PMS syndrome.

A double-blind study, confirming other studies, showed Chasteberries to be more effective than vitamin B6 in controlling PMS-like symptoms. The German Commission E monograph recommends a daily intake of 1 to 3 teaspoons a day of this dried herb. This is not a fast-acting remedy, and will not give immediate symptomatic relief, however, it is safe to use over long periods.

I originally was feeding my gelding the Smartpak supplement however I wanted to go to a more organic way of feeding. I was hesitant to order due to my gelding being such a picky eater. He eats up every bit! I have seen an improvement in his energy and weight in just one month. Super fast shipping and response time! I will be a customer for life!

I had a bunch of people telling me to put our horse on regumate.. I don’t care how grumpy he was that was not going to happen. So I looked up on this website for help… YAY I found it he has been so much happier.. 😊

    Hi Chris,
Just a follow up for you. I stopped both products for 1 week. I started the Chaste Berry at 1/3rd a teaspoon for 1 week and then slowly did a little more
over the next months, now she is up to 2 tsp a day. Within a week, Princess was running up and down our hills trying to beat the our other horse at feed time, when previous she could hardly walk. I haven’t seen her run in at least 2 years. It’s quite amazing and we are very pleased.

Thank you so much for helping Princess be a horse again.
    Jeffrey
