Product Description

MSM For Sheep 99.9 % pure MSM Sulfur

Important areas of use include: inhibition of pain impulses along nerve fibers, lessening of inflammation, increasing of blood supply, reduction of muscle spasm, and softening of scar tissue.

Thus, animals suffering from a wide range of chronic pain conditions may experience rapid relief after being started on MSM supplementation. We have often heard the statement, “Within a few days pain was gone!”.

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane)

MSM is a snow white, crystalline, water soluble, odorless and almost tasteless powder.  It is neither a drug nor a food additive, but a nutritional mineral, such as sodium which is required by the body for life processes.

Our MSM is an organic compound that comes in a calcium carbonate and rice hull blend that is 99.9 % pure MSM Sulfur, derived from DMSO (dimethylsulfoxide).  (DMSO is a topical anti-inflammatory agent which for years has been safely used to treat animals.)

MSM enters the body as a dietary sulfur associated with amino acids.  In clinical tests, use of MSM produced significant proof that animals with flourishing intestinal colonies of beneficial bacteria are better equipped to fight the growth of disease-causing bacteria, along with reduced swelling and inflammation.  MSM prevents pressure build up in cells, permitting nutrients in and pushing toxins out, healing connective tissue, and at the same time insulating bones from friction thereby cushioning the joints during movement.

MSM enhances tissue pliability and encourages repair of damaged skin.  It also promotes good digestion and absorption of nutrients.

Sulfur is one of the essential minerals ranked as a macronutrient in the diet.  Earlier methionine work and ongoing MSM research indicates that it is the structure of the sulfur donor molecule, not the amount of sulfur assayed in the diet of an animal or plant that is critical.  The body must receive sulfur in the form of a sulfur donor molecule since it cannot assimilate elemental, yellow sulfur into the body.

The list of sulfur uses in the body is extensive.  It is critical in the formation of collagen which is a vital component of bones, hooves, ligaments, tendons, skin, connective tissue, enzymes, and hormones.  Without adequate and properly delivered sulfur, life functions as we know them would cease or be greatly inhibited.  Experimental findings suggest that MSM has a biological role as a cell wall stabilizing factor.  MSM also assists the integrity of the mucous membrane tissues. MSM helps strengthen the lungs, possibly regulating the fluid that covers the surface of the airways.  It may provide relief from the symptoms of lung dysfunction by the plasticizing effect on the membranous surface of the lung involved in air exchange.

MSM is said to help fortify the animal body’s natural barriers against allergens.  Oral MSM helps in the alleviation of allergic response to pollen and foods.  Sulfur plays a major role in detoxification and elimination of free radicals as well as ensuring the integrity of the mucous membrane tissues.

MSM is present in many foods when they are very fresh, but it can be driven out of food by even moderate processing, including the cutting and drying of hay.  It is important to supplement animals’ diets with a pure source of MSM.

Veterinary interest in MSM has increased over recent years.  MSM is not some magical potion – although it seems like one!  It basically does two things: reduces inflammation, and enhances blood circulation.  So MSM aids with a variety of ailments and lameness problems.  In particular MSM provides animals with relief from arthritis.

MSM is now widely acclaimed by veterinarians for its contribution to animal health care.

Nutritionists, veterinarians, and animal owners report excellent results from the feeding of MSM on a daily basis.  MSM provides a dietary source of sulfur, an element that is important in the formation of connective tissue. Animals fed MSM in their water supplies had lower death rates, lower instances of liver damage and had a longer life expectancy than the control groups of animals which were not fed MSM.

Animals given MSM showed a delayed onset of tumors, equivalent to 10 years in humans. Dietary MSM also delayed the onset of tumors in the colon.

MSM comes in a 2 ½ pound tub. Full instructions are included.  Give sheep ¼ teaspoon per 30 lbs. of body weight per day.

Our Hampshire/Suffolk cross (Hardy) suffered an undetermined injury as a young lamb and was immobile for 6 weeks. My husband and I took him in as a rescue and rehabbed him up onto his feet. After about a year of a happy, healthy life, very well loved life, i noticed he seemed to be getting arthritic and was having serious issues getting to his feet. When he was on his feet (most of the time I had to heavily assist him) he limped badly and did not move very much while up. We received your MSM product and I began administering 1 tablespoon twice a day mixed with crimped oats and mollases. After a week and a half, Hardy was back to greeting me every morning for breakfast, getting up on his own throughout the day and grazing like normal. We firmly believe in your product because we have seen it work. Thank you for all that you all do to keep our babies as holistically treated and healthy as possibly! We just placed an order for the glucosamine and we are excited to see even more results. Thank you.

We have an 11-year-old Suffolk Hampshire cross ewe who was healthy except for starting to limp after getting up and walking more slowly as if her front feet or legs pained her. After eliminating any problem with hoofs we decide it was something age and joint related, and I started her on two teaspoons of MSM and Glucosamine a day. After two months I noticed much improvement and she has been on the combination ever since.
