Although we love summer and the nice weather and long daylight hours, we don’t love the bugs that come with it!
This unique peppermint scented all natural fly spray is our own handcrafted recipe using only the finest all natural ingredients! Custom blended with several great smelling bug repelling essential oils. We also add coconut oil for an amazing coat conditioner. We have successfully used it on our own horse Topper for many years. Due to popular demand from our horse loving friends, we proudly added it to our product line and think it’s only fitting to call it “Topper’s Bug Buster” with his photo on the label!
Unlike chemical fly sprays, our formula is completely safe and does not contain DEET, pyrethrins, poisons or other chemicals. Pyrethrins and other pesticides kill insects (and anything else) by damaging the nervous system. In effect they are neurotoxins that paralyze and kill bugs they come directly into contact with. Another popular fly spray chemical called DEET, has been linked to side effects such as dizziness, disorientation, seizures and even death. Studies show those who use fly sprays, weedkillers and other chemical treatments are 2 1/2 times more likely to develop brain cancer.
Just imagine what using these toxic ingredients long term can do to you and your horse’s health! They don’t immediately affect us like they do the flies and other insects, but when used, they get absorbed directly into the skin. Your skin is the largest organ of your body and since it’s porous, it absorbs whatever you put on it. A study published in the American Journal of Public Health looked into the skin’s absorption rate of chemicals found in drinking water. It revealed that different areas of the skin absorbed between 64 to 100% of total contaminant dosage. Also, repeated use and inhaling unsafe chemicals enables the toxins to accumulate in the body until it reaches an amount where it negatively affects our health. It’s easy to see that what we use on our skin ends up inside our bodies.

I have been using this bug spray for about 2 years, I believe. At first I was skeptical, but after testing the ones with tons of chemicals and watching my horse run away from me and then using this one and my horse actually enjoying it, I was sold. Of course, I was also watching to see if it was effective with the flies and it 100% works. I also use it to spray the barn down to keep the flies out and it’s super effective that way too. I love stocking up on this product!

This is the best fly spray I’ve ever used. I have it in my patio and when the flies come out in warmer months I just spray a few squirts of this on me and my table and they are gone. One of the best products I’ve used. I couldn’t believe how well it worked. Recommended.

I truly love your product. I’ve tried so many natural fly sprays and have been disappointed every time. I always resort back to chemical sprays just to give my alpacas some relief, especially the few in my herd that attract flies like magnets. But your product works and seems to last just as long as the chemical sprays. I’m over the moon using something that I know is safe and that I can even use on myself (which I do! )
