Why is fiber so important as a bowel cleanser?

Years of research has conclusively shown the benefits of high fiber in our diets.  Fiber is the indigestible parts of fruits, seeds, vegetables, whole grains and other edible plants.  Fiber is generally classified as either soluble or insoluble.

Soluble Fiber

Soluble fiber is that which easily dissolves in water.  Fruit pectin is an example of soluble fiber.  Soluble fibers lead to the production of short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which support the nourishment of the cells of the large intestine and promote digestive healing.  SCFAs also help reduce levels of cholesterol and can inhibit the growth of yeasts and disease-causing bacteria.

Insoluble Fiber

Insoluble fiber is not easily dissolved in water.  Wheat bran and ground flax seeds both contain insoluble fiber.  Insoluble fiber helps inactivate many intestinal toxins and may help to inhibit the ability of parasites to attach to the walls of the intestine.  Insoluble fiber also contains roughage which helps clean and tone the bowel.  Research has also shown that insoluble fiber may play a role in reducing intestinal permeability.

What is the best type of fiber?

Both soluble and insoluble fiber are important, and FiberGuard contains 100% pure natural fiber!

Below are the potential benefits of high fiber diets:

Much lower cholesterol levels
Normalize blood sugar
Improved bowel function
Feed intestinal bacteria (good bacteria)
Inactivate intestinal toxins
Decrease intestinal permeability

Is FiberGuard different from other products?

FiberGuard is fresh Food Grade fresh organic ground flax, unlike most other fibers that are made of old psyllium husk.

Flax fiber does not bind, swell, or gel like psyllium-based fiber products.

FiberGuard’s Stone ground organic flax fiber can be tolerated by many individuals sensitive to psyllium.

Flax contains lignins, which strengthen fiber cells, and are thought to help the body’s defenses against many health problems including colon cancer.

FiberGuard is not just a natural fiber – it’s also contains naturally occurring substances beneficial to digestive health, such as the all-important Omega 3 and 6 Essential Fatty Acids not available elsewhere in your diet in this concentration.

FiberGuard’s 100% stone ground food grade organic flax seeds are great to include in your fresh baked bread or muffins.  Add about 1/2 cup or more to your favorite recipe.  Try sprinkling on hot cereal or a salad.  FiberGuard has a fantastic nutty taste you will love.

FiberGuard is an important source of polyunsatured fatty acids, including Omega-3 and 6, plus Magnesium, Zinc and dietary fiber.  It contains protein, mucilage, lignans and phytosterols , that are naturally included at 100 times the level of the next best source, wheat bran.

The American diet is sorely lacking in this type of healing natural fat.  Fresh ground flax seed is unique in that 48% of its total fat content is Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.  Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids are necessary for proper infant growth and development, especially important in the formation of a healthy nervous system, and to help keep that nervous system functioning properly.

It has been shown to be useful in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, behavioral problems such as (ADC) attention deficit disorder, depression, and bipolar disorder in adults as well as children.  Omega 3 fats are also important in modifying the body’s inflammatory response, making them very helpful in the treatment of inflammatory diseases like allergies, asthma, arthritis and eczema.

Studies have shown that omega 3 fats can lower blood pressure, “bad” cholesterol, and triglycerides by as much as 25% and 65%.  Its impact on the number one killer in our country, heart disease, may well be its most exciting health benefit.

Medical research has taken great interest in ground flax seed of late.  Study after study confirms that the oil and fiber components of the ground flax seed are wonderfully health promoting and are curative for many disease states.

It does not taste bad at all. Kind of a nutty and green taste, like new, spring grass taste. And does an excellent job. My Dr put me on a high fiber diet and I’ve been eating the Fiber One cereal that has 65% of your daily fiber in it. It also taste like sweetened cardboard. I’ve been getting MSM and glucosamine for my goats for years and it’s done wonders for them, so I thought I’d try something for me. So glad I did. Taste much better than the cereal, cheaper than the cereal, and there are so many different ways to eat it. I sprinkle it over my food, mix it with granola, put a little in my coffee, and occasionally when I’m in a hurry just eat it straight. Great company, great products, great customer service so glad I stumbled across them.
