Allergex is amazing! My horse has suffered from seasonal allergies here in Florida for years. I’ve tried a lot of different products. The Allergex is by far the most effective treatment we’ve used. My horse used to bite and scratch himself until he bled. The traditional vets only offered steroids which I wouldn’t do. Since I’ve used Allergex his itching has dramatically decreased. I have three horses on this product (Omni-WormGuard Plus for Senior Horses) for the past year. Only one time did the older one get a few worms but he eats the grass they poop in so…. The vet called me very impressed and indicated he loves the product-it even causes the eggs of the worms to shrink and dry out. Why give toxic when you can give this and it does such a great job.

I own a horse rescue and last year took in an neglected, abused, emancipated older gelding. His head hung low, so weak he could barely stand, he struggled to move. He was covered with body sores and dried manure from his diarrhea. The vet confirmed all of his chewing teeth had fallen out, recommending I add a probiotic to warm wet mashes. He said the gelding had been slowly starving to death, no longer had the digestive enzymes to properly digest fiber and most likely would not gain back the much needed weight.
But I saw determination in the ol’ boy’s eyes and decided to name him “Pride”…because I wanted him to know one day he would hold his head high and have his dignity back.
I tried the first recommended probiotic for 40 days but it did not stop the diarrhea. I tried 4 more different probiotics …40 days each to give them time to work. Although Pride was gaining back some weight he still had constant diarrhea. Then I stumbled onto The Holistic Horse Proguard. Within 3 days Pride’s manure was completely normal!!! Not only that I saw the life coming back in his eyes. After a week on the probiotic he was holding his head up and moving more. It’s been 11 months since the day Pride arrived here and much to my vet’s surprise he has gained back all the needed weight, his manure is normal, all of his body sores have healed and he runs like the wind with his head held high! I am really kicking myself for not taking before/after photos but my horse looks INCREDIBLE after starting him on the bentonite clay. He is an appendix who has always been high anxiety and I suspect had ulcers long before I got him. However, it was never a serious issue and I chalked his cinchy attitude and ribby stature up to the crabby gelding he was. He was always slow to eat his grain, as long as I had him, so I always assumed he was just a slow eater. All in all, he was always checked off by my vet as a healthy horse. Last year, we took a trip to South Dakota to camp, which was a stressful trailer 14 hour ride. While there, he dropped quite a bit of weight and was merely picking at his grain. Once home, I upped his feed, which helped only slightly. He was shown heavily by a 4-H girl and at the end of the season, was looking worse than he ever had. When I had his yearly teeth float, I explained all the symptoms to my vet and she suggested having him scoped for ulcers. She explained the treatment with ulcergard afterwards and when calculated, it would come to a whopping $1500 for treatment. I do all I can to take care of my animals but for me, that was going to be a financial strain. If it had to be done, it had to be done...but I wanted to do some research first. Someone suggested clay to me and I immediately purchased it. In a month, I started to see a difference. By month two, he was looking better than he ever had. I SWEAR by the bentonite clay for ulcers and have suggested it to every single person I know. I've used it on others I suspected had ulcers and give a little extra when we're going into a stressful situation. I attempted to use one other cheaper product that did not hold up whatsoever. He is no longer cinchy, holds on weight, and scarfs down his grain. For 8 years, I assumed he was just naturally grumpy horse - this last year he has shown me he is so much happier.
